Soda Sense Addresses Pitney Bowes Bankruptcy Impact on CO2 Cylinder Return Process
September 3rd, 2024
We at Soda Sense wish to inform our valued customers that Pitney Bowes, a key shipping partner responsible for managing the return of empty CO2 cylinders, has recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As a result, they will cease handling the empty cylinder return process after September 3rd, 2024.
The return labels currently in circulation, which are associated with Pitney Bowes, will no longer be valid after this date. The United States Postal Service (USPS) has confirmed that they will no longer accept return packages bearing a Pitney Bowes label. If you attempt to return your empty CO2 cylinders using these labels, USPS will not process the package and will notify you that your package cannot be shipped.
In response to this situation, we have secured a new shipping partner to ensure the continuity of our refill process without interruption. We ask that you promptly request a new return label through your Soda Sense account. This new label will be fully supported by USPS, allowing you to continue the return process as seamlessly as before.
Action Required: Access Your Account
Please log in to your account to request and print the new return label. The refill process at Soda Sense will not change from the seamless exchange process in the past. Simply attach your newly printed return label to your return box with your empty threaded cylinders, and when you're ready to exchange, place it in your USPS mailbox or bring it to your local USPS drop-off location.
Rest assured, this transition will not affect the security of your account or payment information, and your refills will continue without any disruption.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and thank you for your continued trust in Soda Sense.
How do I know if I have a new working label or an old non-functional label?
The old, non-functional labels from Pitney Bowes will indicate on them that they are part of the Pitney Bowes Parcel Return Service. See the example below:
New, working return labels will indicate on them that they are part of the USPS Parcel Return Service and have no mention of Pitney Bowes on them. See the example below:
