Step 1

Gather your water and mangos in a blender. Turn your blender on high and mix until a smoothie effect is obtained. You'll then transfer your mixture to a pot, add your sugar, bring to a boil, and simmer for 15 mins.

Step 2

Once your mixture is cooled down, you'll want to strain through a colander and then again through a cheesecloth. This ensures your syrup is fine and lightly see-through. Transfer your mango syrup to a sealed container and store it in the fridge for up to 1 month.

Step 3

To make your Mango Soda, pour 2-3 oz of your mango syrup into a glass with ice, and then top your drink with homemade sparkling water, made with your very own soda maker. Garnish with some thyme for extra flavoring, and enjoy!

What Kind of Sparkling Water Should I Use to Make a Mango Soda?

We recommend making your own sparkling water at home using a soda machine, the reason being you can adjust the level of carbonation to your liking. You can also save money in the long term by refilling and exchanging your 60L CO2 canisters in place of buying seltzer water from the store. This approach has additional advantages for the environment as well and is a key component of why we, here at Soda Sense, strive to produce sustainable and earth-friendly products.

What Are the Health Benefits of Mangos?

Mangos are rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. They also contain a unique combination of polyphenol antioxidants which can help boost your immunity and fight off free radicals. Mangos are also known to have anti-inflammatory properties, making them an excellent choice for people who suffer from inflammation or joint pain. And if all these benefits weren’t enough, mangos are also a great source of energy and can help you stay hydrated.

In fact, mango peels are also a great source of mangiferin, norathyriol, and resveratrol, which are powerful antioxidants that may help prevent or fight cancers. Instead of throwing away your peels after making your delicious mango syrup, try making these mango skin alternative recipes:

Mango Skin Syrup:

To make, add your skins to a sealed container and add in 1:1 grams of sugar. Seal your container and allow to sit overnight or until the sugar has dissolved in the peel's juices. Strain your syrup into a glass bottle and store in the fridge for up to 1 month. Try using this mango skin simple syrup in classic cocktails to give it a tropical twist!

Mango Skin Chips:

Take your mango peels and toss them in cumin, salt, and smoked paprika, and then place in the oven to dehydrate at 135 degrees F or until crispy.

Mango Peel Tea:

Mango peel tea has a crazy amount of health benefits and is a well-known beverage used for weight loss due to its richness in antioxidants. To make your Mango Peel Tea, begin by adding your mango peels and 1.5 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Allow to then simmer for a few mins and then add in your fennel seeds and mint leaves and remove from heat. Next, add in your green tea and let it sit covered for a few more minutes. Once it's cooled down a little bit, you can serve it with honey or sweetener.

For starters, it can help you stay hydrated and can even be beneficial for those who suffer from high blood pressure, kidney stones, and other issues related to dehydration. Furthermore, sparkling water is a great alternative to sugary drinks like soda and juices, as it contains no added sugar or calories. Finally, carbonated water may even help digestion and improve the absorption of vitamins and minerals found in your food.
